My name is Susan Koenig, and I have been hanging wallpaper for over 25 years. I make sure to treat my client’s homes as if they were my own, keeping worksites clean and using only the finest adhesives and primers. I return calls, respond to questions, and arrive as scheduled, always careful to serve with punctuality and professionalism for every customer.

Education and Training
I attended the U.S. School of Professional Paperhanging in Rutland, Vermont in the winter and spring of 1987. There, I received formal instruction in wall preparation, materials estimation, and wallpaper hanging for different types of locations and under various conditions. I was certified in the summer of 1987, after rigorous hands-on and written testing.
Learning From the Best
I honed my wallpaper hanging skills in the Northeastern U.S., working for New York and New Jersey-based decorators and clients for over 25 years. It was at this time that I first began installing the most unusual, fashionable, and high-end wall coverings such as glass-beaded, cork, metallic, and hand-painted types.
Organizations and Affiliations
I continued my formal studies through the National Guild of Professional Paperhanging, an organization dedicated to the ongoing education of professional paperhangers nationwide. I proudly served as chapter president of New Jersey for four years and continue actively participating to this day.
Re-Establishing the Business
I moved to Asheville, North Carolina in 2005. At this time, I was able to successfully restart my business and rebuild my customer network with a steady stream of projects with clients such as decorators in the counties of Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania, and Haywood in North Carolina.
